Visitor Information

We welcome visitors! We understand some people are unfamiliar with a formal order of service or the liturgy that guides our worship. It is ok to have questions.

The ushers will provide you a bulletin outlining the order of the morning's service, and much of the content is also projected on screens. Alternatively, prayer books and Bibles are available in each of the rows so you may follow along.

Come early for some coffee and snacks or to check in your children into the childcare area. All workers are fingerprinted and background checked, and each classroom or nursery space is staffed with two loving adults.

On Taking Communion:

Holy Communion, historically called the Eucharist, is central to our services. All baptized Christians are welcome at the the Lord's table for this sacrament. If you are not baptized or do not wish to receive the bread and wine, you are still encouraged to come forward and receive a blessing; signify this desire by simply crossing your arms over your chest as the priest approaches you at the altar.

More About Anglicanism:

In Anglicanism, worship is not a spectator event; all present are active participants in prayers, singing, responses, and fellowship. Again, it is ok if you don't know the words others are saying in unison; the liturgy has a rhythm, much like a dance, and it takes a few times for it to become familiar.

Please read this short article for more details.

On Childcare:

We provide childcare up to age 3 in the nursery during Sunday School at 9:00 am and the 10:30 am Sunday service.

During the 10:30 am service, ages 3 to 9 years meet in the Atrium adjacent to the Nave for the first half of the service. During announcements, parents may bring their child(ren) back into the service to share Holy Communion as a family.

On Vestments and Other Fancy Stuff:

Vestments are the robes and stoles (similar to scarfs) worn by clergy and non-clergy assisting in the worship service. They indicate who does what, much like a uniform represents one's function or authority. The ministers will walk in (and out at the end) behind a cross to indicate that we follow and honor Jesus.

When you enter into the Nave, where people are seated for the service, we pray you will encounter the Holy Spirit through the word of God, Holy Communion, prayers, and musical worship. If you need individual prayer, please let an usher or clergy member know so we can serve you in that way.
