THE REV. KIM ALLEN
Deacon Kim
Spiritual Formation
Raised in Jacksonville, Fla., by Christian parents, I came to know Jesus at a young age. Active ministry and attending church have always been a core part of my life, primarily assisting my mom in children’s ministry and participating in our church choir and orchestra. My husband, Keith, and I met in a College & Career Sunday School class, married in 1989, and have served in ministry together ever since. We have two adult children, Kat and John.
My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Liberty University, and Anglican Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. Before moving to Vero Beach, I worked as a school counselor and middle school teacher at Hartfield Academy in Mississippi. Hearing God’s call to ordained ministry in 2017, I pursued diaconate training in the Anglican Diocese of the South and was ordained a Deacon at Christ Church Vero Beach on March 8, 2020 to serve in the Gulf Atlantic Diocese.
As a Deacon, I lead women's ministry and prayer ministry in our parish and assist in our liturgical services. I am grateful God has given me opportunities to disciple and mentor women, promote the practice of prayer, and serve Him through singing and songwriting.
